In April I was called upon to volunteer my skills as a physician in the Gaza Strip, preparation for this and ultimately a 4 week deployment in June has taken up all of my free time and energy.
The devastation that has been inflicted on the civilian population of Gaza, especially to the children, is immense and indescribable. I often would see more children die in one day than I had in my entire 6 year career as an emergency physician. This needs to stop.
